Learn AI by building, not watching
These are the courses behind AI Start Academy's AI automation training for founders, professionals, and students. Each course is built from real cohort sessions: recordings, workbooks, and exercises you can follow at your own pace.
Cohorts give you live access — in person in San Francisco or over Zoom — with instructors walking you through the theory and the setup, so you leave with working systems, not notes. Free courses are open to everyone; cohort courses unlock when you join a bootcamp. Check upcoming cohorts →
AI In Production Interview Series
AI in Production is a series by AI Startup Academy featuring founders, operators, engineers, and investors building real AI businesses today.
AI Automation Workflows (n8n)
This module provides comprehensive training on building and deploying AI automation workflows using n8n. It covers fundamental concepts of data formatting with JSON, API communication (POST/GET requests, webhooks), and integrates LLMs, including local and cloud models. Learners will master workflow construction within the n8n environment, configuring trigger nodes, processing data using various transformation and flow control nodes, and setting up communication with external services. The module also details advanced topics like orchestrating tasks with AI agents, using a "human in the loop" approach, and implementing Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG) systems for efficient data retrieval and automated Q&A. This enhances efficiency, reduces costs, and improves customer experience with highly scalable workflows.
Start HERE - AI 101. LLMs. Agents.
This module provides a comprehensive exploration of Large Language Models (LLMs), encompassing their foundational mechanics, lifecycle, and practical application. It covers core concepts such as tokenization, context windows, and model economics, alongside advanced topics like fine-tuning, RAG, and agentic systems. Learners will understand the immense computational demands of training, the intricacies of the inference process, and strategies for model selection based on cost and task complexity. The module also critically examines AI adoption challenges, including common failure points like hallucination, context overflow, and security vulnerabilities. Emphasizing secure design and precise context engineering, it guides users in leveraging AI as a cognitive offloading system to amplify skills while mitigating significant risks associated with untethered, autonomous AI.
AI Automation Agency Bootcamp
Start here: How this course works (PDF): https://hub.aistartacademy.com/api/media/media/courses/6-week-bootcamp/previews/how-the-6-week-bootcamp-works.pdf AI Automation Agency Bootcamp · 6-Week Course. Learn online. Come for the community. Six modules follow the AISA Bootcamp Workbook chapter by chapter. Every lesson is broken into simple concepts you watch (a short video), read (the workbook chapter) and follow (a hands-on task and a quiz), then you submit your work for automatic feedback. The feedback is guidance, not a grade. Start any time: all six modules are open to you. Build with us every week: build days every Monday and Tuesday, in person at 1769 15th St and on Zoom, and Demo Day on Thursday evenings, where everyone comes to show their build. Request a 1:1 session with a mentor if you get stuck anywhere. Week 6 ends with launching your own AI automation agency.
