About
Lex Mustafin is the founder of AI START academy, where he prepares the next generation of AI Integrators and AI agency founders using knowledge from Silicon Valley's top practitioners.
He has been building personalization-at-scale products for a decade. He founded Custom Product Builder in 2016 — a no-code product personalization and customization platform now used by 4,000+ merchants in 100+ countries, including Giant Bicycles, Martinez Tools, and Audio64. He also runs Buildateam, which audits and optimizes business processes using AI and has delivered for 700+ entities since 2016.
Earlier he co-founded AbbeyPost (custom made-to-measure apparel, 500 Startups, acquired) and served as CTO at 347Design, architecting enterprise Magento commerce platforms. He advises Sfeer on software engineering and mentors early-stage founders at Draper University and 500 Global on GTM strategy, tech-stack selection, and US market entry.
He studied AI at Innopolis University, holds a master's in Anthropology of Religions, an A.S. in Computer and Information Sciences from BMCC, and two master's degrees — translation and public relations — from Linguistics University of Nizhny Novgorod.
In the bootcamp he teaches AI foundations, Claude Code, portfolio deployment, the media and content stack, and the business side of launching an automation agency.
