AI Start Academy Visitor Waiver and Release

This waiver applies to any in-person visit, class, meeting, event, or activity at AI Start Academy, 1769 15th Street, San Francisco, California 94103.

By entering or participating, you agree to the following:

1. Voluntary Participation

You are choosing to attend voluntarily. You understand that in-person activities can involve risks, including trips, falls, collisions, illness exposure, equipment-related injuries, and other known or unknown hazards that may cause property damage, personal injury, serious injury, or death.

2. Assumption of Risk

You accept and assume all risks related to your visit and participation, whether they arise from ordinary conditions of the premises, the actions of other participants, or the nature of the activity itself, except to the extent prohibited by California law.

3. Release of Liability

To the fullest extent allowed by California law, you release and hold harmless AI Start Academy, its owners, officers, employees, contractors, volunteers, instructors, partners, and representatives from claims, demands, damages, liabilities, costs, and expenses arising out of or related to your visit or participation, except for claims resulting from gross negligence, willful misconduct, or any other liability that cannot legally be waived.

4. Responsibility for Your Conduct

You agree to act safely and responsibly, follow staff instructions, comply with posted rules, and avoid bringing dangerous, illegal, or prohibited items onto the premises. You are responsible for any damage you cause to the space or to other people’s property.

5. Health and Emergency Care

You represent that you are physically able to participate in the activities you choose to join. If emergency medical care is reasonably necessary, you authorize AI Start Academy staff to contact emergency services on your behalf. You remain responsible for any medical costs you incur.

6. Media and Photo Consent

Unless you tell AI Start Academy staff in writing before the event begins, you grant permission for your image, voice, and likeness to appear in photos, video, or audio captured during on-site activities, and for AI Start Academy to use that media for educational, community, promotional, and archival purposes without compensation.

7. Minors

If you are signing on behalf of a minor, you represent that you are the minor’s parent or legal guardian and agree to this waiver on the minor’s behalf to the fullest extent permitted by law.

8. Governing Law

This waiver is governed by California law. If any provision is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in effect to the fullest extent permitted.

By attending an in-person activity at AI Start Academy, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this waiver and agree to it.
